Kendall Diggs delivers walk-off HR for Arkansas in SEC Tournament thriller

Kendall Diggs was the hero of the moment for Arkansas Wednesday evening, sending the Razorbacks past Texas A&M in walk-off fashion for the extra-innings affair.

The SEC Tournament battle between the two was a back-and-forth battle for much of the afternoon. In the bottom of the 7th inning, Jared Wegner gave Arkansas the lead with a go-ahead grand slam, just the 3rd ever grand slam for a Razorback in the history of the tournament.

Arkansas was unable to finish off the win in regulation. Texas A&M’s Austin Bost tied the game up in the top of the 9th inning with a solo home run.

Things stood at 5-all until the bottom of the 11th inning. Diggs eventually provided the final blow with a home run on a 2-1 pitch, giving Arkansas the walk-off after a lengthy affair.

The walk-off is the first ever for Arkansas in the SEC Tournament and becomes the first walk-off for the tournament overall since the 2019 season. The Razorbacks have now won 10 of their last 13 games and are clicking at just the right time entering the postseason.

With the win, Arkansas will advance to face LSU Thursday in the winners’ bracket with a tentative start time of 5:30 pm ET. Texas A&M will get South Carolina with both teams up against elimination in Thursday’s first game of the day at 10:30 am.
