According to a report from FOX Sports, the supposed throat slash TCU Kenny Hill gave against Arkansas last Saturday wasn’t in fact a throat slash.

TCU staffers say the hand gesture was completely misinterpreted. Hill was giving the sign for ‘rising kings.’ Hill offered this gesture after scoring a TD late in the contest. He drew an unsportsmanlike penalty — which ultimately gave Arkansas good field position for the eventual game-tying score.
When looking at the footage, it appears as if Hill moved his hand down in a diagonal motion — which illustrates the sash a king may (or may not) wear.
This video demonstrates the proper signing for the phrase.
