Kentucky men’s basketball will have a new basketball court at Rupp Arena beginning on Dec. 2 for the contest vs. UNC-Wilmington. The program recently announced the news of the updated aesthetics.
There’s now a tan outline of the state behind the UK lettering. Also, the large blue “Central Bank” ads on each side of the court will be replaced with more subtle emblems.
The Cawood’s Court marker honoring legendary radio play-by-play broadcaster Cawood Ledford will still be at half court in front of the broadcast table on the opposite end from the team benches. The UK logo with “Mr. Wildcat” in honor of longtime manager Bill Keightley remains in front of the UK bench.
In a news release, UK says new basketball court for Rupp Arena will be installed “ahead of” Dec 2 men’s basketball game with UNC-Wilmington. UK also says the “Cawood’s Court” & “Mr Wildcat” markers that honor Cawood Ledford & Bill Keightley, respectively, will remain on new court https://t.co/JLZg2qk4aW
