The tragic death of Kobe Bryant has shaken the sports world to its core. The impact of his death around the world could be compared to the likes of Prince, Michael Jackson or Princess Diana. Bryant was beloved and respected by millions.
Bryant was a world-wide superstar for the Los Angeles Lakers, and he was sadly one of nine victims killed Sunday in the tragic helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. His 13-year-old daughter Gianna was also killed, along with John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Alyssa Altobelli, Christina Mauser, Sarah Chester, Payton Chester and Ara Zobayan.
Kentucky basketball is the latest team to honor Bryant. The Wildcats play the Vanderbilt Commodores Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m., and the Cats will wear special warmup shirts and several will wear custom sneakers.
