Mark Stoops has a tunnel-vision attitude when he talks about his 7th-ranked Kentucky team’s showdown this Saturday afternoon at No. 14 Ole Miss.

It’s a battle of 4-0 teams in Oxford, and Stoops is blocking out the outside noise and the point spread that has his Wildcats as a touchdown underdog.

Stoops shared his message to his team and his overall outlook on his program on ESPNU Radio’s Dusty and Danny in the Morning show with Dusty Dvoracek and Danny Kanell.

“We’re proud of the fact we’re in the Top 10, but I’d really like to finish in the Top 10,” Stoops said. “It’s not so much where you’re at right now, it’s where you are going to finish.”

Stoops said he expects his team to be able to go down to Oxford and win, but he also knows the obstacles.

“Is it a challenge, is it hard, is it difficult? Absolutely,” he said. “But we embrace that, we know that.”

He doesn’t like when people ask him about being satisfied with an 11-1 or 10-2 season.

“What game am I supposed to give up on? What game am I supposed to throw in the white towel?” Stoops said.

Stoops wants to win them all, including Saturday’s big one.

“We go to compete to win every game, knowing full well that it’s a challenge,” he said.
