Kentucky fans were thrilled, to say the least after their team pulled off a massive upset over Ole Miss in Week 5.

After the improbable victory, Kentucky fans were lining Lexington’s streets to celebrate. One group of fans even decided to light a couch on fire in the street.

It’s understandable for Wildcat fans to be excited. Conference play started out on a terrible note, as the team was dominated by South Carolina at home.

Since then, however, the team has seemingly figured some things out. The Wildcats barely lost to Georgia in Week 3 before dominating Ohio in Week 4. Then, the upset of Ole Miss in Week 5 was the cherry on top.

Coming into the game, the Wildcats were 15.5-point underdogs. The win marks arguably the biggest victory of Mark Stoops’ Kentucky tenure. This was the team’s 5th win over a top-6 ranked team in program history.

Brock Vandagriff had his best game as a Wildcat as well. The QB completed 18-of-28 passes for 243 yards with 1 TD and most importantly, no turnovers.

The Kentucky defense also got plenty of pressure on Jaxson Dart which made a huge impact. The Wildcats racked up 4 sacks and 7 tackles for loss on the day.

The next test for the Wildcats will be in Week 7 against Vanderbilt as the team has a bye in Week 6. With a win over Vanderbilt, the Wildcats would improve to 4-2 on the season.
