Kentucky fans sound off on John Calipari after another early NCAA Tournament exit
Kentucky fans are not happy with head coach John Calipari following the Wildcats’ loss to K-State in the round of 32 on Sunday.
Kentucky was a betting favorite over Kansas State, but was unable to close out the game late. Led by Markquis Nowell, the Wildcats made some clutch shots late in the 2nd half to seal the 75-69 win.
This loss is another in a long line of tournament disappointments for Kentucky. Calipari’s teams have just 1 NCAA Tournament victory in the past 4 years. That win came against Providence on Friday.
This is also the 2nd time Kentucky has lost to Kansas State in the NCAA Tournament in recent years. UK fell to K-State in the Sweet 16 back in 2018.
Over the past 3 postseasons, Kentucky is just 2-5 in the SEC Tournament and NCAA Tournament.
Here’s some of the criticism for Calipari after another tough loss in March:
John Calipari and Kentucky have one NCAA Tournament win in the last three years.
Since the 2015 Final Four, 10 tournament wins over seven complete seasons, with two Elite Eights, three first weekend exits and one missed tournament.

John Calipari proves yet again he’s washed up and overrated. Nate Oats, Bruce Pearl, Rick Barnes, and Eric Musselman are all better than him. Kentucky will NEVER win another championship as long as Calipari remains there.

Kansas State, Auburn, COVID, no tournament, Saint Peter’s and Kansas State again. A terrible stretch of tournament play from Kentucky under John Calipari.

John Calipari now has 1 NCAA tournament win in the last four years. A presidential term and his only tourney win is Providence two days ago.

Tough for Kentucky to get rid of John Calipari when he’s bringing in the #1 recruiting class next season. But, the guy just is such an overrated coach.

It's time for a change. Get this man out of Lexington. Might as well hire this Tang guy who clowned him for 40 minutes. #FireCalipari
