Kentucky football might just be onto something entering the 2022 season. With Mark Stoops at the helm and quarterback Will Levis returning to lead the offense, the Wildcats are looking to build off another 10-win season.
As the No. 20 Wildcats prepare to face Miami (Ohio) Saturday, they’ll be playing for more than a chance to compete for the SEC East title. This season, Kentucky will honor the legacy of former linebacker Chris Oats, who suffered a career-ending stroke in May of 2020.
In their latest hype video, the Wildcats use the hashtag #22onMe as a tribute to Oats’ time with the program. Oats also is seen in the video sharing a hug with Stoops on Kroger Field.

Nicknamed “Deuce Deuce”, Oats came to Lexington in 2018 as a 4-star recruit. In 2 seasons, he appeared in 25 games recording 73 total tackles, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries.
The Wildcats are a betting favorite to compete with Georgia and Tennessee for the SEC East title this fall. Since arriving in Lexington, Stoops has posted 2 10-win seasons and an overall record of 59-53.
Kentucky is currently a 14.5-point favorite over Miami (Ohio), according to FanDuel.
