Northern Illinois offensive lineman Marques Cox is headed to Kentucky, he announced via Twitter on Thursday morning.
“I would like to thank everyone that recruited me during this process,” Cox tweeted. “After talking with my family, I’ve decided to commit to The University of Kentucky! #BBN”
Cox came into the season for the Huskies with 33 consecutive starts at left tackle before he suffered an injury against the Wildcats this season. He’s been a valuable piece, allowing just 3 sacks on 1,052 career pass snaps played, according to Pro Football Focus.
Cox could be a key in helping Kentucky make a rebound in the 2023 season, helping hold things together up front at left tackle. This was a problem point for Kentucky offensively in 2022 and should help the Wildcats roll more smoothly moving forward.
