Kentucky LB Jacquez Jones explains how he changed his diet to shed 16 pounds
After 3 quality seasons as an Ole Miss Rebel, linebacker Jacquez Jones will suit up for Kentucky this fall.
And the Wildcats are expecting big things from the 6-foot senior transfer, who’s coming off a 2020 campaign in which he recorded 75 tackles, 3 quarterback hurries, and 2 1/2 tackles for loss.
In all, the Tuscaloosa, Alabama native played in 33 games for the Rebels, starting 19, and posted 182 tackles, while also being named an honor roll recipient in 2018.
That said, Ole Miss fans might not recognize Jones in Kentucky blue this fall. Why? Because James has dropped 16 pounds since leaving Oxford, which is one reason why he and the Wildcats are looking forward to big things on the field in 2021.
So how did Jones lose the weight?
“Really, the COVID year messed me up,” Jones told BBN Tonight with a laugh. “In Mississippi, they’ve got good gas station food, so the fried chicken, it was cheap. Now, I’m around 228 (pounds), so what I played at my sophomore year. I feel great.”
