Many teams start off their season with championship aspirations, but Kentucky hasn’t been able to really count itself among them for decades now — at least in football. Mark Stoops, now in his fifth year in Lexington, is ready to change that.

Stoops has been big on building a culture of winning and a program tradition at a school that will always have basketball is its first love. He has stepped it up a notch heading into 2017, however, with some visualization to help the Wildcats see themselves as champions.

Courtesy of ESPN College GameDay host Rece Davis, the Wildcat locker room includes a graphic slotting Kentucky into the College Football Playoff:

Judging by the graphic, UK is not only in the Playoff field, the Wildcats appear to be the No. 1 ranked team in the bracket. Though it’s a bit of hyperbole, visualization is often the first step to achieving one’s goals.

The Wildcats have only one 10-win season to their name, the 1977 campaign in which they finished No. 6 in the country. Stoops and the new look Wildcats are hoping to make it a second, and the wide-open SEC East may just give them that chance.
