What a season it has been for Kentucky RB Benny Snell Jr., and it’s less than half-way through.
In UK’s upset win over Mississippi State, Snell captured the school record for career touchdowns, dethroning Randall Cobb. Snell has cemented his status as one of Kentucky’s all-time greats, now it’s time to recognize where he stands among the best to play in the SEC.
With career touchdown No. 40 notched Saturday in Kentucky’s 24-10 win over South Carolina, Snell joined some truly elite company, as pointed out in this stat shared by WKYT sports anchor/reporter Alex Walker.
Most Rushing TD prior to senior season in #SEC history:
Herschel Walker 49
Tim Tebow 43
Derrick Henry 42
Mark Ingram 42
Darren Mcfadden 41
Benny Snell 40 (@benny_snell)
Leonard Fournette 40https://t.co/DBTg2SHfzk— Alex Walker (@AlexWalkerTV) September 30, 2018
In many ways, it’s incredible that Snell has gone from being “underrated” to being mentioned alongside conference legends like Herschel Walker and Tim Tebow.
With seven more regular season games (and likely more after), it’s safe to assume Snell will continue to climb the list.
