Kentucky released its depth chart Monday for Saturday’s season opener against Louisiana-Monroe, with a mix of experience and youth making up the 2-deep for the Wildcats.

Notably, 10 seniors are slated to start on the defensive side of the ball, an area where Kentucky is hoping to improve after allowing nearly 381 yards per game a year ago, which ranked 45th nationally.

That said, there’s also plenty of youth on both sides of the ball, as the 2-deep features 21 underclassmen, including 4 true freshmen.

The Kentucky depth chart could also look significantly different in weeks ahead.

On Monday, Wildcats coach Mark Stoops discussed the status of 6 players who aren’t on the depth chart at present due to ongoing legal issues.

He also announced that senior offensive tackle Naasir Watkins had been suspended for the first 4 games of the season.

The Wildcats season opener against Louisiana-Monroe is scheduled for 12 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday and will be televised on the SEC Network.
