Remember when Kevin Sumlin was a hot coaching candidate?

Coming off of a 12-1 2011 season at Houston, Texas A&M hired Sumlin away from the Cougars. Sumlin then went 11-2 in his first season as the Aggies head coach with quarterback Johnny Manziel and offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury. However, that was short-lived.

Sumlin was fired in 2017 after going 7-5 (51-26 overall), and he never finished better than 4th place in the SEC West other than 2012.

Arizona then hired Sumlin to be its next head coach in 2018, and he’s had a brutal tenure so far. Specifically in 2020, Sumlin is 0-5 and holds an overall 9-20 record at Arizona in just under 3 seasons. Friday night’s 70-7 loss to rival Arizona State has been the low point.

It’s unclear if Sumlin will get another season, but fans want him gone after the blowout loss.
