Ole Miss entered Saturday looking to build on their incredible Week 3 win over LSU as they traveled to Gainesville to face the Florida Gators.
However, it’s been a tough start for the Rebels in Week 4.
With the Rebels trailing 10-3 in the second quarter, Joenel Aguero was ejected for a targeting penalty. Florida quarterback Aaron Philo threw the ball to Bailey Stockton over the middle of the field, and Aguero made helmet-to-helmet contact that sent Stockton off the field.
There have been many controversial targeting penalties the last couple of seasons in college football, but this wasn’t one of those cases.

Aguero was a big acquisition for the Rebels in the off-season, as he transferred in after spending his first three seasons at Georgia playing for Kirby Smart. He finished his career at Georgia with 72 tackles and one interception.
While he will not be able to go back in the game, he will be able to play in the Rebels’ next game against Vanderbilt on Oct. 10.
