Vanderbilt running back Keyon Henry-Brooks enters NCAA transfer portal following breakout season

It doesn’t look like one of Vanderbilt’s best players will be sticking around for the Clark Lea era.
That’s due to the fact junior running back Keyon Henry-Brooks announced on Wednesday that he has entered the NCAA transfer portal.
“First I’d like to thank God and Coach Mason for giving me the opportunity to play the sport I love at the college level. I’d also like to thank the Vanderbilt family for welcoming me with open arms,” Henry-Brooks posted. “But after talking it over with my family and those close to me, I’ve decided I will be entering the transfer portal. Thank you and God bless.”
Losing Henry-Brooks would be a blow to Vanderbilt’s offense as he rushed for 494 yards on 120 carries and two touchdowns last season after appearing in six games — all against SEC competition. He also caught 28 passes for 258 yards.
Henry-Brooks led Vanderbilt with an average of 125.3 all-purpose yards per game and 82.3 rushing yards per contest.
Considering Henry-Brooks mentioned Derek Mason in his statement, it’s logical to think Auburn may be on the running back’s radar as he enters the transfer portal. However, Henry-Brooks is a native of Powder Springs, Ga., so a return to the Peach State to play for a Georgia program could also be in his future.
He signed with Vanderbilt after being rated as a three-star prospect out of Kennesaw Mountain High School.
