Kirby Smart went onto field to watch Arch Manning’s long TD run Friday night

It’s unusual to see a quarterback named “Manning” running for a long touchdown. Arch Manning is changing that perception.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound quarterback took off for 68 yards and trotted into the endzone for a score on Friday night. The five-star prospect from Isadore Newman School in New Orleans, La., ripped off the long run against Berkeley Prep in Tampa, Fla., to try to keep the game close. However, Berkeley won 49-24.

Manning is nephew of all-time great quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning. Neither was thought to be great runners. However, the youngest Manning on the scene may still have mobility in his genes. His grandfather, Archie Manning, was an elusive runner mostly because he was trying to survive on bad teams in the NFL.

The Mannings haven’t offered any hints as to where Arch might end up in college. Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ole Miss and Texas have all been mentioned as possibilities. However, just a junior, his decision seems pretty wide-open at this point.
