Kirby Smart makes Stetson Bennett, Madden references to describe Jalen Milroe
Kirby Smart believes Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe brings a video game-like presence to the field, and he knows Milroe will be a challenge in the SEC Championship this week.
Smart compared Milroe to one of his former quarterbacks, praising Milroe’s ability to use his feet and extend plays.
“He’s a tremendous, tremendous football player,” Smart said in his press conference Monday. “I think anytime you can scramble and extend plays a la Stetson, it makes it harder to defend.”
Smart also compared Milroe’s playmaking abilities to that of a Madden quarterback, specifically, Lamar Jackson.
Georgia head coach Kirby Smart compared Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe to his sons playing Madden and choosing the Ravens because no one could tackle Lamar Jackson.

Smart said that he’s seen what other teams have done to try and slow down Milroe, and he’s seen Milroe continue to succeed throughout all the different attempts thrown at him.
“People do try to spy him, and the spy can’t get him on the ground,” Smart said. “Everybody’s had a different plan of action. Everybody’s done it different ways.”
Saturday’s SEC Championship game is high stakes. Not only are Georgia and Alabama competing to be at the top of the SEC, but there are also Playoff implications.
With one loss on its schedule already, Alabama needs a win to keep its Playoff hopes alive. Georgia has a little more breathing room, but a win would lock the Bulldogs into a CFP spot.
