Georgia head coach Kirby Smart has always been humble, rarely acknowledging the true dominance of his team over the past year.

Even when other head coaches heap praise on the Bulldogs, Smart is careful to remain realistic. Such was the case when Kent State head coach Sean Lewis complimented Smart and the Bulldogs, and said, “I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say it’s the greatest collection of talent that’s ever been assembled on a football team because of the work coach (Kirby) Smart and his staff and the tireless, relentless effort they put into building the program to an elite, elite level, right?”

Smart was modest in his response, acknowledging mistakes and things that need to be cleaned up on the field.

“He’s probably watching last year’s tape if he’s saying that,” Smart said. “We’re young. We’ve got a lot of mistakes and things to clean up.”

Georgia will face Lewis’ Kent State Golden Flashes on Saturday. The game is set for noon on ESPN+ and Georgia is a 45.5-point favorite.
