Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have an open date for this week, but will be up against a tough test as they travel to Alabama for their fourth game of the season.
One of the players in the fold for the Crimson Tide that his team will particularly have to keep a watch over is wide receiver Ryan Williams. He’s a name Smart is quite familiar with.
“He’s extremely talented. A kid we recruited,” Smart said on the weekly SEC teleconference. “He came over and saw us several times. He’s a delightful personality. He’s fun to be around and a great kid.”
The true freshman Williams has quickly emerged for Alabama as a reliable target for Jalen Milroe as he’s reeled in 10 catches for 285 yards with three scores over the first three games of the season. Keeping him at bay will be one of the top task for the Bulldogs defense as they head to Tuscaloosa in roughly a week and a half.
Alabama and Georgia are set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Sept. 28 in Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPN.
