It was a scary moment on Saturday in Knoxville when Georgia starting nose tackle Jordan Davis went down with a left ankle injury, putting some depth problems along the defensive line for the Bulldogs. He missed the rest of the game, a 43-14 victory for Kirby Smart’s team.

On Monday, coach Kirby Smart gave an update on the injury status of Davis, stating that he will be good to go this weekend when the Bulldogs host South Carolina in Sanford Stadium and that the defensive player would be going through rehab today.

In five games for Georgia this season, the sophomore from Charlotte has recorded five total tackles and one tackle for a loss.

The Bulldogs are also hoping to have defensive back Tyson Campbell back for the matchup against the Gamecocks. Campbell, who did not play against both Notre Dame and Tennessee the past two weeks, suffered a foot injury in the 55-0 victory over Arkansas State on Sept. 14. He did not make the trip to Knoxville with the team.

Better news for Smart’s team is the likely return of offensive lineman Solomon Kindley, who also missed the game against the Volunteers on Saturday with an ankle injury. Smart stated that he could have played if the Bulldogs’ needed him against Tennessee.
