Kirby Smart provided an update on Javon Bullard and Ladd McConkey on Monday.

Smart said McConkey is “more than likely out this week” as the top-ranked Bulldogs prepare for their matchup against UAB.

Smart noted there is no timeline for McConkey as he deals with his “unique” back injury. McConkey, a junior wide receiver, has not played for Georgia yet this season.

“We’re resting him and trying to get him back,” Smart said. “We don’t have something to measure (the injury).”

Smart said that Bullard is listed as day-to-day. Bullard is dealing with a sprained left ankle. Bullard, a junior defensive back, has 8 tackles in 2 games so far for Georgia.

“He might be close with the recovery this week,” Smart said, but added he is unsure of Bullard’s next move.

Smart mentioned that Pearce Spurlin III, a tight end on the Bulldogs’ roster, is out. Smart said he is unclear when Spurlin will return.

The Bulldogs are fresh off a 24-14 victory over South Carolina this past weekend.

Georgia (3-0) will host UAB at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The game will be televised on ESPN 2.
