Kirk Herbstreit includes Georgia among top team performances in Week 12

The fourth quarter became a little more nerve-racking than originally expected, but Georgia picked up a huge victory at Auburn on Saturday. With that, the Bulldogs made Kirk Herbstreit’s Top 5 performing teams list for Week 12.

Georgia defeated Auburn 21-14. Quarterback Jake Fromm barely threw for more than 100 yards, but he tossed all three touchdowns. According to Herbstreit, only Oklahoma, who erased a 25-point deficit to beat Baylor on the road, performed better than Georgia this past weekend.

Through three quarters, the Bulldogs held the Tigers off the scoreboard, but Auburn’s offense came to live in the final 15 minutes. The Tigers scored two quick touchdowns and had two opportunities to tie the game with another touchdown drive, but the Georgia defense stiffened.

The Bulldogs have now beaten three teams ranked in the Top 20 of the latest College Football Playoff rankings.
