As Auburn fans chanted “overrated” about the Georgia team that came into Jordan-Hare Stadium ranked No. 1 in the College Football Playoff ranking, ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit looked ahead to what it could mean for Auburn.
Herbstreit praised Auburn near the end of a 40-17 thumping of Georgia.
Of course, if Auburn can knock off Alabama in two weeks, it would setup a rematch with Georgia in Atlanta at the SEC Championship Game.
If nothing else, the Auburn win will keep up the talk of the Tigers making the CFP if they can win out down the stretch.
Kerryon Johnson was one of the stars for Auburn with 32 carries for 167 yards, while quarterback Jarrett Stidham was 16-for-23 passing for 214 yards and three touchdowns.
How bout @AuburnFootball tonight?? Wow!! Impressive. Makes that possibility of beating UGA-Bama-UGA again in Atlanta seem practical. First hurdle down. We’ll see in 2 weeks if they’re ready for @AlabamaFTBL!! Can’t wait!!
