Kirk Herbstreit reacts to disgusting behavior from App State fans

On Friday, a video began to circulate around Twitter that showed numerous Appalachian State fans shouting expletives, displaying gestures and making crude comments to Marshall football players coming off the field on Thursday night.
The incident occurred after Appalachian State defeated Marshall, 31-30, at Kidd Brewer Stadium in Boone, N.C., on Thursday night. Sports reporter Emily Van Buskirk tweeted the video of these fans, which quickly began to gain traction on social media.
It caught the eye of ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit, who shared his reaction to what he saw on Twitter:
Hate seeing this. Unfortunately happens in many stadiums. In this era it’s paramount that AD’s and their stadium staff and security make people like this pay for their actions. 95% of fans are INCREDIBLE and 5% of every fan base can ruin an experience. Hold them accountable! https://t.co/2WX3QzDc5p

Many who watched the video felt the same way as Herbstreit. Tennessee Titans running back Darrynton Evans tweeted that “clearly the fans need to do better.” On3’s Justin Hokanson called it “really pitiful behavior.”
