The 2020 SEC season is halfway through for most teams, and Alabama, Georgia and Florida appear to be the teams most likely to compete for the SEC championship.

Florida and Georgia meet in Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon in a game that could very well decide the SEC East champion.

On ESPN’s College Football Playoff show this week, analyst Kirk Herbstreit said he thinks the Bulldogs, not the Gators, pose the biggest threat to the Crimson Tide (via 247Sports):

“I don’t think Florida can play with Alabama, but I do think Georgia can,” Herbstreit said. “So they’ve got to find a way to get it going this weekend.”

Georgia obviously lost to Alabama earlier this season, but the Dawgs actually held a halftime lead before getting blown out.

This weekend’s Cocktail Party will go a long way toward deciding which team gets a chance at Alabama in Atlanta this year.
