WATCH: Kirk Herbstreit’s son, Jake, starting to gain college recruiting traction

Kirk Herbstreit is the face of ESPN’s college football coverage, and the sport has certainly been good to the family.
Kirk’s father was a co-captain for the Buckeyes in the 1960s, and Kirk, like his father, played for Ohio State, too. Now, Herbstreit’s son, Jake, is starting to gain some traction in the recruiting realm. He preps for Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, Tennessee.
The rising senior cornerback has added some weight this off-season, too. He’s listed at 6-feet, 175 pounds, and he’s rated a 2-star prospect, according to 247Sports. The website doesn’t list any offers for Herbstreit at this time, but that could certainly change.
247Sports’ Barton Simmons shared a video of Herbstreit working out over the weekend.
Watched Jake Herbstreit (son of @KirkHerbstreit) workout this weekend. 2019 CB that added 20 pounds this offseason. Good player that is starting to get some college traction. Started at CB last year on Nashville power MBA. pic.twitter.com/yvR2ZsW3sk

Former NFL DB Bernard Pollard had an interesting response to the criticism in response to the video:
For y’all who have NEVER played db (or football), he played every drill the correct way with the correct speed. Stiff? Y’all smoking something! That’s the way he’s suppose to move. You rarely see a white DB moving and stepping like that. Keep working bro! #HatersWillHate
