KJ Jefferson is back at Arkansas, but not in the same capacity he used to be. The former Razorbacks quarterback returned to Fayetteville on Saturday in time for the team’s game against the Texas Longhorns, and he went as a fan.
Jefferson, who is now a quarterback for the UCF Knights after he departed from Arkansas via the transfer portal. The Knights are off this Saturday.
Some have said this matchup gives “big noon upset” vibes, something that only time will if it is true or not. So far, it is shaping up to be much more competitive than many originally thought it might be.
Here’s a look at what Jefferson posted to his Instagram story:
Jefferson’s last season at Arkansas was in 2023 as a redshirt senior. During that season, he started in 12 games on the schedule, passing for 2,107 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also carried the ball 161 times for 447 yards and two scores on the ground.
There was a time Jefferson was considered to potentially be one of the best quarterbacks in the SEC, but he has since faltered, now relegated to backup quarterback for the Knights back in early October.
Arkansas currently trails Texas in a close one. Texas extended its lead to 20-10 with a touchdown at the 9:05 mark.
