Kris Boyd, former Texas DB, shoves Texans assistant during AFC playoff game

Kris Boyd, a former Texas defensive back, and the Houston Texans are facing the Kansas City Chiefs in an AFC Divisional Round game.
Early in the first quarter, the Texans found themselves in a tough spot as the Chiefs’ Nikko Remigio returned the opening kickoff 63 yards — only for Boyd to get hit with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty to put the Chiefs at the Texans 13. They eventually hit a field goal to take an early 3-0 lead.
Things got headed on the Houston sideline afterwards: ESPN cameras showed Texans special teams coach Frank Ross giving Boyd an earful as he came off the field before Boyd gave him a vicious shove.
Take a look at the video below:
Needless to say, this was an ugly moment between player and coach.
Boyd is in his second season with the Texans after stops at Minnesota and Arizona. He entered the day with 8 tackles on the year, mostly on special teams.
A second-team All-Big 12 honoree in 2017 and 1st-team all-conference player in 2018, he was a 7th-round draft pick for the Vikings in 2019. He spent 4 seasons there before joining the Cardinals.
He was cut by Arizona in October 2023 before signing with the Texans shortly thereafter.
