Former Florida tight end Kyle Pitts went down with an injury that appears to be a torn MCL that will require surgery during Sunday’s 27-24 victory over the Chicago Bears, according to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

The Atlanta Falcons pass-catcher suffered a blow to his right knee from Bears safety Eddie Jackson during the game, walking off the field on his own power afterward.

Former NFL team doctor David Chao also said that he expects Pitts “will miss multiple weeks.” With that type of timeline, the most reasonable date of return for Pitts seems to be the Week 15 matchup against the rival New Orleans Saints.

So far this season, Pitts totals 28 receptions for 356 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns.
