Lane Kiffin believes Alabama changed defensive play-caller after loss to Texas
Lane Kiffin had an interesting comment about facing the Alabama defense in Week 4 on Sunday. Kiffin believes that the Alabama defense has been run by Travaris Robinson since losing to Texas, not Kevin Steele.
Kiffin worked with Steele while at Alabama, and it looks like there has been a change on defense to the Ole Miss head coach. If what Kiffin believes is true, it could change how the Rebels prepare ahead of the game.
It seems like Robinson is calling the defense now in Kiffin’s eyes.
“We’ve been against Kevin a number of times. Worked with him at Alabama and against him at Auburn and LSU. There seems like there’s been a change there. I don’t know what happened after the Texas game, but our guys watching the TV copy and schematically in this last game, certainly seems like T-Rob’s now calling the defense. We played him before at South Carolina, so we’re preparing accordingly for him calling the defense. He’s done a good job, too, and they’ve got really good players.”

Alabama beat South Florida 17-3 in Week 3. Ole Miss will be looking to end a seven-game losing streak to the Crimson Tide on Saturday.
