Lane Kiffin frustrated by LSU receiving another prime time kickoff over Ole Miss: ‘I feel bad for our fans’
Lane Kiffin met with reporters in Oxford on Monday and had a strong reaction to learning that Ole Miss will not have the opportunity to play under the lights in a couple of weeks.
Kiffin was frustrated with the TV designation that Ole Miss received for its Week 11 game against No. 2 Georgia. Ole Miss and the Bulldogs will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Nov. 9 and not in primetime, it was announced on Monday afternoon. Instead, LSU’s matchup against Alabama will get the 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff treatment on ABC.
Kiffin expressed some displeasure at that result.
“LSU gets to play at night again, I guess?” Kiffin said. “Shocker. So that’s 2-for-2 for them. It is an advantage. I feel bad for our fans to not have 1 night conference game, it’s really unfortunate for them. So, whatever. It’s just really disappointing. But it is what it is.”
Here’s video of Kiffin’s comments:

In addition to being a home field advantage in Kiffin’s opinion, Ole Miss is presumably planning to have numerous top recruits from the high school ranks on campus for what should be a game with significant College Football Playoff implications. A night game would have provided an even better atmosphere in Oxford for those prospective recruits.
LSU previously hosted the Rebels in primetime on ABC. The Tigers won that game in overtime, 29-26.
Ole Miss only has 1 other home game remaining this season after its Week 10 matchup with Georgia. The Rebels will host Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl on Nov. 29 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
