Peyton and Eli Manning’s ESPN2/ESPN+ broadcast of this week’s “Monday Night Football” was a hit with NFL fans. It didn’t take long for college football fans to point out that the brothers’ alma maters face off on Oct. 16. On Wednesday, Lane Kiffin endorsed the idea of the Ole Miss-Tennessee game getting the “Manningcast” treatment.
Kiffin quote-tweeted the Reddit CFB Twitter account’s suggestion.
Come on @ESPNCFB give the people what they want @Vol_Football @OleMissFB #WeWantEli #WeWantPeyton https://t.co/qiGnCnzYtU

With this being Kiffin’s return to Rocky Top as an SEC head coach, the game already has plenty of intrigue and storylines. The Mannings would certainly add to the fun.
At this point, the game does not have a TV network assignment. Kickoff and TV assignments are typically announced on a Monday, just short of 2 weeks before the game. If CBS does not pick the game, the game will land on an ESPN network. We’ll see if ESPN is able to deliver a Manningcast.
