Lane Kiffin poaches player personnel evaluator from Playoff team to be Ole Miss GM, per report

Lane Kiffin has added to Ole Miss’ player personnel department with a hire of Billy Glasscock from Texas, and he previously worked at NC State and Minnesota. Glasscock has worked at Texas since 2021.
ESPN’s Chris Low reported the news and added that Glasscock, who will be a general manager, has a strong reputation as a keen talent evaluator.
Glasscock started his career as a junior college coach, at Arizona Western and Joliet Junior College before he became the recruiting operations assistant and assistant strength and conditioning coach at Northern Illinois for 2 years. In 2011, Glasscock followed Jerry Kill from Northern Illinois to Minnesota to serve as the director of recruiting.
At NC State starting in 2017, he led the recruiting staff and was responsible for directing all recruiting activities. At Minnesota, Glasscock was the director of recruiting operations since 2011. In 2014, national recruiting analyst Tom Lemming named him one of 5 national directors of recruiting operations of the year.

Glasscock holds a bachelor’s degree from the United States Sports Academy.
