Ole Miss (8-1) enters a showdown with Georgia (9-0) on Saturday, and Rebels coach Lane Kiffin knows his squad could keep fans on the edge of their seats.
“Off the top of my head, I don’t really remember being around [a team like this],” Kiffin told reporters on Monday. “Like I joked with them, they’re kind of like, you know, the cardiac kids … to have so many, like, games that go to the wire [and] got to come back from, you know, … from being behind in fourth quarters.”
“So, I don’t know that I really remember this many within a season,” Kiffin added. “It says a lot about them. This is a really cool group of kids to coach. Every year isn’t like that. This is a really neat group that overcomes things.”
Ole Miss has 4 single-score games in the past 5 weeks, including a 38-35 win over Texas A&M last Saturday. Georgia comes in off of a 30-21 win against a No. 12 Missouri, a game where the Bulldogs got all they could handle.
The 2 haven’t met since 2016, a 45-15 win by the Rebels before Kiffin’s tenure. Kiffin has been successful with the Rebels, and he could coach his squad to 9 wins or more wins for a second time in 4 years.
