One of the top rated running backs in recent high school history is looking for a new team. That’s a process he’s used to.
B.J. Emmons was cut on Wednesday by the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders. Emmons signed with Alabama as the top ranked running back in the nation by many recruiting services. After things didn’t work out in Alabama, Emmons attended Hutchinson (Kansas) Community College then transferred to Florida Atlantic.
Emmons was one of several players cut as teams trim down their rosters to 53 men. Emmons is now eligible to sign with other teams that may need a running back now or during the season.
Emmons found the field as a freshman running back at Alabama, which is no easy feat to accomplish. He ran the ball 35 times for 173 yards and a touchdown. Injuries became a factor after he left Alabama. Emmons played well in community college but continued to struggle with injuries during his senior season at Florida Atlantic. He had 37 carries for 116 yards and a touchdown.
