Latest first round mock draft from Pro Football Focus includes record 14 SEC players
The current record of players from one conference selected in the first round of any NFL draft is 12 — the SEC did it in 2013 with the ACC accomplishing the feat in 2006. According to one mock draft, this year could see a new record set.
In his latest Pro Football Focus mock draft, Steve Palazzolo envisions 14 players being taken in the first round of the upcoming draft. No surprise to see Texas A&M’s Myles Garrett at the top of the board, Alabama leads the way with five selections in this mock, with LSU finished second with three selections.
If you’re curious why the 49ers have the sixth overall draft pick in this mock, Palazzolo included a hypothetical trade between San Francisco and the New York Jets for the second overall pick.
