Lee Fitting, noted long-time executive at ESPN, reportedly leaves company amid larger changes
Lee Fitting, a senior vice president is no longer with ESPN, Outkick’s Dan Zaksheske reported.
Fitting oversaw several top programs, including Monday Night Football, the College Football Playoff, College GameDay and the SEC Network. Head of Event and Studio Production Norby Williamson informed employees of Fitting’s departure from ESPN 0n Monday.
According to the report, Williamson plans to address employees about Fitting’s departure as well as detail new plans for football programming going forward.
Fitting has been with the program for more than 25 years, as he joined ESPN’s production program in 1996 and worked his way up the ranks. Fitting is widely responsible for the success of College GameDay, which he began producing in 2004 and became coordinating producer for in 2008.

With the help of Fitting, GameDay has become the most well-known Saturday morning staple in the fall and continues to be successful. Fitting has also helped Monday Night Football thrive.
Through his work at ESPN, Fitting has earned 6 Sports Emmy Awards.
