On Sunday night, Leonard Floyd told reporters he’s leaving Georgia, presumably for the NFL Draft.

Shortly thereafter, Floyd tweeted that his decision was influenced by the firing of longtime Georgia head coach Mark Richt earlier in the day.

The 6-foot-4, 231-pound linebacker is in his junior year at Georgia. This season, he has 68 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. He also had a 96-yard fumble return for a touchdown against Tennessee.

Floyd is a three-year starter on defense for the Bulldogs.

He is a finalist for the Butkus Award, given to the nation’s top linebacker.

Richt was fired on Sunday after 15 seasons at Georgia. He went 145-51 during his time in Athens.
