LSU returned from spring break and got back on the practice field Tuesday. With just a few practices left before Saturday’s spring game, Les Miles hit the podium after practice to talk to reporters.
Of course, the question on everyone’s mind was the quarterback situation. Miles said that Brandon Harris is much closer to being a starting quarterback than he was last year.
#LSU coach Les Miles said it is more accurate that Harris simply wasn't ready last year, and not overconfident.

Miles also told the media that he wants his quarterbacks, Harris and Anthony Jennings, to do a good job running the team and taking care of the ball in the spring game.
Speaking of that game, Miles talked about how quarterback repetitions would be split, while also giving some uncertain answers on the format of the game.
Miles says #LSU QB reps will be "pretty even" in the spring game.

Miles also gave an update on defensive tackle Quentin Thomas. Expected to be a major contributor last season, Thomas suffered a biceps tear early in the year. He ended up playing in 11 games but only started in three of them and made just nine tackles on the season. Thomas hasn’t participated in spring drills this year, but after surgery Miles expects him to be ready for fall.
Quentin Thomas "will be healthy and full go" by the fall. Hasn't participated in spring yet while recovering from surgery. #LSU

Miles also cited two players on the offensive side who have improved in spring practice. Andy Dodd, fighting for the center job, and wide receiver D.J. Chark, who made a splash with a string of touchdowns in early scrimmages both earned recognition from the coach.
Les Miles says Andy Dodd is "one of the more improved guys" on the offensive line. #LSU
