There was a lot of emotion involved in Alabama’s 66-3 win over the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday, but nothing can compare to the emotion felt when it was discovered who the dominant victory was dedicated to.
Cameron Pruitt, also known as Cam, had become an inspirational figure for the team after the 13-year-old from Northport, Ala., had been battling cancer.
Sadly, that battle has come to an end with the news that he had passed away on Friday, but that doesn’t mean that Pruitt’s ability to inspire the team has ceased.
Quite the opposite, in fact.
Our lil man passed away on us yesterday. It hurts to see a kid go through this but he fought a good fight. You’ll forever be with the Bama family. Today is for you Cam 🙏🏾🎗❤️ #RIPCAM #CamStrong pic.twitter.com/RDk6hMFMdI

After starting the season with wristbands that read “Cam Strong,” star QB Jalen Hurts and others were seen sporting new wristbands with the phrase “RIP Cam” on it.
Hurts had this to say about Pruitt following the game:
“Cam, I met him last year, but in the last few two weeks, I’ve probably went to visit him four to five times,” Hurts said after Saturday’s victory over Ole Miss. “I built a relationship with him. I always give him my earrings, always give him the sweatband that I have and I wear just to show that I’m playing for him and he’s on my mind, for sure. He was a strong kid, and he taught me a lot.”
