The LSU vs. Texas matchup was one that was talked about all offseason, and even more so in the buildup to kickoff. The trash talk hit an all-time high on the field in pregame warmups, but it wasn’t just the players that got involved.
LSU’s marching band is a key part of home games in Death Valley, with classic such as “Hold that Tiger” and “Fight for LSU”. It seems as though the University of Texas knew this, however, and attempted to take them out of the game as much as possible in the top ten matchup that took place Saturday night,

All the way in the nosebleeds, it couldn’t have been easy to hear LSU’s fight song after all five touchdowns the Tigers scored en route to a 45-38 victory.
On top of the band placement, FOX Sports Knoxville’s Trey Wallace reported the official ticket number allocated to LSU fans, and it is barely 3% of the capacity at Darrell K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium.

If this was a deliberate move by Texas, it didn’t stop quarterback Joe Burrow from throwing for 471 yards and four touchdowns in the win.
The good news for LSU band members, however, is Texas is coming to Baton Rouge for the second leg of the home and home in 2020. So while Texas players and coaches will be planning for revenge, officials at Death Valley may be doing the same.
