The former home of the Atlanta Braves is ready for the 2017 college football season.

Turner Field has officially been transformed into a college football stadium. Georgia State bought the facility after the Braves moved to Cobb County and SunTrust Park following the 2016 MLB season.

Jay Busbee shared a picture from behind where home plate used to be:

Doug Turnbull also shared an aerial view of the stadium:

Tim Tucker of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported what will be the opening events for the re-designed stadium:

“Georgia State Stadium — the facility’s temporary moniker until a naming-rights agreement is done — will debut by hosting an open Panthers scrimmage Aug. 17, high school football games in the Corky Kell Classic on Aug. 18-19 and Georgia State’s season opener vs. Tennessee State on Aug. 31.”

The stadium was originally used for the 1996 Summer Olympics.
