LOOK: Florida’s Duke Dawson lucky to avoid ejection after ‘slapping’ LSU receiver

Florida’s Duke Dawson was deservedly penalized on Saturday against LSU.
Dawson, a defensive back for the Gators, slapped LSU wide receiver Russell Gage across the face (well, facemask) after a play in the second quarter.
Sometimes things get heated out there, but this was a pretty dumb play.
The officials caught the “slap” and flagged Dawson, but LSU also ended up being penalized for the retaliation. Thus, it was a double unsportsmanlike conduct on the play.
Dawson probably got lucky on this one. It certainly could have warranted an ejection from the game.
LSU led the Gators 10-3 at halftime.
