Social media is everything these days, and you have to make sure what you post is accurate, especially if you’re a college coach or notable sports figure.
Some big figures in sports pay people to manage their social channels, and former Louisville coach Rick Pitino probably should have considered doing that, or at least fire the guy he had set up his Twitter page.
On Thursday, Pitino, or some guy he hired, set up a new Twitter page, and it had a couple of errors.
The page was quickly deleted, but Dan Wolken got a screenshot of it during the short time it was up. Check it out, courtesy of @DanWolken on Twitter:
Rick Pitino’s new Twitter bio doesn’t seem to account for a guy named John Calipari pic.twitter.com/9GmZFaGPrc

Let’s start with the header, which is a good tool to enhance the visual aesthetic of your Twitter page. Pitino’s own name is spelled incorrectly in what I assume is his new podcast. “The Pitno Press” sounds like something most people would want to avoid listening to.
Now, let’s head to his Twitter bio.
Wait, the only coach to take three different schools to the Final Four? Didn’t your rival John Calipari do that with UMass, Memphis and Kentucky?
I know coach Cal had two of those appearances vacated, but with someone who has had so many wins vacated themselves, Pitino has to empathize with Cal in some way.
We’ll see if Pitino gives it another go on Twitter at some point in the future, but this attempt was pretty funny.
