LSU’s recruiting class just got better as one of the top defensive backs from the state of Texas has announced his commitment to the Tigers.

Lancaster native Lorando Johnson publicly announced his commitment to LSU Wednesday, which was celebrated by Ed Orgeron with his trademark “Hold That Tiger!” tweet.

The 6-foot, 181-pound defensive back is rated as a four-star recruit, the No. 150 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 11 cornerback in the 2020 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings. He currently holds scholarship offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Michigan and Ohio State, among many others.

Following this news, LSU’s recruiting class is up to 11 commitments for the 2020 recruiting cycle. The class ranks as the SEC’s No. 2 class at the moment and No. 3 nationally, behind only Alabama and Clemson. Remarkably, 10 of LSU’s 11 players currently committed to the class are ranked as either four or five-star prospects.
