Los Angeles Rams reportedly make decision about former Georgia LB Leonard Floyd

The Rams will be without OLB Leonard Floyd this season, as reports have emerged that the team will be parting ways with the former Georgia linebacker.
Reports previously indicated that Floyd would be traded, but with no takers on the trade market, the Rams have chosen to release Floyd instead. The OLB is in the third year of a four-year contract with the team. Floyd signed a four-year, $64 million contract in 2021, but will only play for 2 years. With the release of Floyd, the Rams will free up $3 million in cap space, something that has been a big issue for the team this year.

Floyd has been a playmaker for the Rams on the defensive line, recording at least 9 sacks in the previous three seasons. In 2020, his first year with the Rams, Floyd had 10.5 sacks alone. In 2021, that number was 9.5 sacks, while the OLB tallied a solid 9 this past season.
As a Georgia Bulldog junior in 2015, Floyd played in 13 games with 72 combined tackles, 4.5 sacks, three passes defended, and a fumble recovery. It’s expected that Floyd will find a home quickly once he enters the free agency market on Friday.
