Louisiana senator, Mississippi chancellor have friendly wager over LSU/Ole Miss game
Allegiances to something — whether it be a sports team or even a favorite band — is something personal and intimate.
When stakes between siblings are thrown into the mix, all bets are off.
Jeff Vitter is a chancellor at the University of Mississippi. His brother, David, is a senator from the state of Louisiana. With Ole Miss and LSU set to square off versus one another in Baton Rouge this Saturday, coming up with a friendly wager seemed like the natural thing to do.

Senator Vitter issued this statement to his brother (per The Advocate):
“Big LSU-Ole Miss game this coming weekend! I’m publicly challenging my brother Jeff, the Ole Miss chancellor, to a bet. The loser wears a shirt of the winning side the next day, posted on all social media of course, with a sign that says ‘My brother’s team beat mine, so I have to wear this shirt.'”
