Louisville tight ends coach Chris Klenakis pleaded guilty on Thursday to DUI, for driving drunk through a construction zone, according t0 WDRB in Louisville.
Klenakis was arrested last month, and police said his blood alcohol content over double that of the legal limit when he was pulled over. Klenakis will spend four days in jail, pay a $728 fine, be on probation for two years, and have his license suspended for 30 days.
Klenakis joined Louisville’s staff under Bobby Petrino in 2014 as the offensive line coach, and made the switch to tight ends coach in 2017. Klenakis was also a part of Bobby Petrino’s staff at Arkansas, joining the Razorback’s staff as the offensive line coach in 2010, and staying until 2012 after Petrino was fired.
Petrino confirmed on Monday that Klenakis would not be a part of the staff for the remainder of the season, and the University of Louisville has placed him on administrative leave.
