Louisville added to its portal haul this offseason with a transfer pledge from former NC State wideout Dacari Collins on Saturday, according to a report from CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.

Collins is a 6-foot-4 receiver with 4 years of experience in the ACC. He began his career at Clemson and spent the last 2 seasons at NC State. He’ll join Louisville with 1 season of eligibility remaining.

A 4-star recruit from Atlanta, Collins signed with Clemson out of the 2021 class. He was a top-200 prospect with offers from all the heavy-hitters in the SEC and the ACC. He played right away as a true freshman, appearing in 9 games and making 3 starts for the Tigers in 2021. He made 16 receptions for 221 yards that year.

Following a redshirt season in 2022, Collins transferred to NC State. He started the final 3 games of the 2023 season for the Wolfpack and finished the year with 14 receptions for 212 yards and 2 scores.

In 2024, Collins started all 12 games he appeared in while hauling in 24 receptions for 314 yards and 2 scores. Despite being second in snaps, he finished the year as NC State’s fourth-leading receiver. Still, Collins had the highest receiving grade (66.7) from Pro Football Focus of any NC State wideout and made 6 contested catches.

He was used predominantly as an outside receiver.

Collins was also the Wolfpack’s best blocker at the skill positions.

Louisville has a budding star coming back in Chris Bell. Caullin Lacy is also back after missing most of 2024 with an injury. Collins provides a size profile Louisville doesn’t really have outside of Bell.

He becomes the 22nd known transfer pledge for coach Jeff Brohm this offseason.
